The entrance faces north, is 25 m wide and has 2 m of depth. Inside there is up to 2 m of depth. At night the entrance is marked by a red light, Fl(2)R 7s, at “Dique de la playa, Extremo” and a green light, Fl(2)G 7s, at the end of the San Valentín breakwater. Today the tide rises and falls 3.2 m at Bilbao, the nearest reference port.
